Darius Assemi is a proud Iranian-American immigrant and a civil engineer specializing in transportation. He currently serves as the President and CEO of Granville Homes, a real estate development company established in 1977. Under his leadership, Granville Homes has built over 6,000 single-family residences and has been involved in the development of more than 100 projects in the Fresno metropolitan area.
Darius has also spearheaded downtown revitalization efforts, constructing over 400 multi-family residential units and redeveloping 35,000 square feet of commercial real estate across 14 projects in Fresno’s urban core. He champions smart growth that accommodates all transportation modes, proposing a master “cycle track” system for Fresno in 2012.
An advocate for environmental stewardship, he introduced the “Eco-Smart” homes line in 2008 and holds a LEED Accredited Professional certification. With two terms as a California Transportation Commissioner, Darius actively engages in policy processes to drive industry change.
Beyond his professional achievements, Darius is committed to the socio-economic well-being of Central Valley residents. He promotes initiatives for food, shelter, employment, healthcare, education, and support for at-risk youth. In 2015, Granville Homes became the lead sponsor of the Talk Read Sing campaign in Fresno, emphasizing the significance of early childhood education and development
